Now that the Affordable Care Act is the law of the land, it is time to look at how to implement it in a way that helps the most number of people. One major decision on the horizon is the issue of Medicaid (BadgerCare in Wisconsin). The Affordable Care Act fills in the gaps of BadgerCare, effectively ending the waiting list for over 145,000 Wisconsin Citizens. But Governor Walker must make the decision whether to allow this to happen or to block the process.
Republican Governors are not in agreement. States like Nevada are accepting the changes, while others like Texas are choosing to block them. And many states such as Florida & Wisconsin have yet to make a decision.
Citizen Action of Wisconsin has spoken over 200 times in the last 18 months on the Affordable Care Act. And now we expand our presentation during the month of January, before the Governor makes his decision in February, to cover the issue of Medicaid/BadgerCare and explain the decision that must be made to cover more individuals and save the state money.
