As the election in November counts down, so does another critical deadline for the Affordable Care Act, and this is about people's lives.
Each state has until November 16 to show their plan for creating a "Competitive Health Marketplace", aka an "exchange", as part of the Affordable Care Act. These marketplaces make sure that everyone has the opportunity to purchase competitive insurance that can never deny them for preexisting conditions, drop their coverage when they get sick, or charge women more than men.
Scott Walker has publically stated he will not implement the Affordable Care Act in Wisconsin until after the November election, but that would leave him only 10 days to create it! This issue is critical to the 1.3 millions people in Wisconsin with preexisting conditions that would be denied care if they ever needed to buy insurance on their own. Critical to small businesses that need more competitive coverage options to function.
Estimates are 1 out of 3 Americans will have a preexisting condition, this Competitive Health Marketplace is necessary to ensure everyone has the security of health coverage
Demand that Walker announce his plans before the election!
